Worcester – Jeanne L. (Laurence) Richard, 94, of Worcester, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 with family by her side.
Mrs. Richard was married for 69 years to the late, Ernest C. Richard who died in 2020. She is survived by three sons, Laurence Richard of Amherst, NH, Paul Richard of Santa Fe, NM and Roger Richard of Worcester, MA; four daughters, Anne Marie Skalin of Worcester, MA, Claire Richard of West Boylston, MA, Christine Richard of Amesbury, MA and Jeannette Antinarella of Holden, MA; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Joseph and Alexina (Grenier) Laurence and is predeceased by four brothers, Edmund, Roland, Armand and Wilfred Laurence; four sisters, Loretta Bleau, Dora Dubuque, Claire Roy and Aline Sviklas and a step brother, Leon Letourneau.
Mrs. Richard graduated from Holy Name High School in Worcester. She was a devoted mother raising her children and later going to work for Heffernan Press. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church where she faithfully attended mass.
Jeanne enjoyed playing a game of scrabble but she was always the happiest when she was with her family, especially when she was able to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, June 19 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church 25 Fales St. Worcester. Entombment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial contributions in memory of Jeanne may be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Church 23 Fales St. Worcester, MA 01606.
