Maria (Pintone) Lombardo, of Somerville, passed away on Wednesday, June 11th. She was 89. Born and raised in Marina Di Gioiosa Ionica (Reggio Calabria), Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Maria Teresa (Candido) Pintone.

An elegant and classy woman with a generous heart, Maria was one of those people who eternally had a smile on her face. She was a happy person and delighted in sharing that joy with family and friends. Her door was always open. She liked it when you came through the door, but also found it fun to go out to eat. Normally dressed "to the nines," Maria enjoyed a nice glass of white wine. She used her talents in sewing and as a seamstress both at work and at home.

Maria was the beloved wife of the late Gaetano Lombardo. She was the devoted mother of Vincenzo Lombardo and his wife Angela, Carmen Lombardo and his wife Annette, Giovanni Lombardo and his wife Giuseppina, Maria Ibrahim and her husband Sam, and Domenic Lombardo and his wife Mena. She was the loving Nonna of Guy and his wife Tanya, Stephanie and her husband Frank, Daniel and his wife Tiffani, Tania and her husband Todd, Vincenzo and his wife Nicoletta, Anna and her husband Kenny, Michael and his wife Holly, Matthew and his wife Alyssa, John and his wife Daria, Cristina, Amanda and Nicholas. She was the caring great grandmother of 15, and the dear sister of Giovanna Scrivo, and the late Enzo, Carmelo, Jiulia, Salvatore, and Giuseppe. Maria is also survived by many loving family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday, June 18th from 4 PM to 8 PM, and again on Thursday, June 19th at 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in Saint Clement Church, 64 Warner St., Medford, at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
