John J. Joyce, 93, of Londonderry, NH, died Monday June 9, 2025 in St. Teresa's Manor Nursing Home in Manchester, NH. He was born in Manchester on September 1, 1931, a son of the late John and Mary (Akey) Joyce. He had been a resident of Londonderry for over 50 years, formerly living in Derry. John was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry. He was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict from 1951 - 1955. John had been employed as a truck driver for 29 years for Edgecomb Steel of New England from where he retired. He formerly drove for Buckley’s Egg Express in Derry. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Londonderry. John was an avid NY Yankees fan and enjoyed doing word search puzzles.
He is survived by his daughter, Valerie A. Joyce of Londonderry; three sons, Leslie B. Joyce of Londonderry, John T. Joyce of Iowa Park, LA, and Bruce A. Joyce of Exeter, NH; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara (Thomas) Joyce in 2009, and his siblings, William Joyce, Edward Joyce, Richard Joyce, Francis Joyce, Mary Mallfait, Arline Spooner, and Theresa Eden.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 16th from 8:30am - 10:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30am in St. Mark’s Church, 1 South Rd., Londonderry. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th at 10:00am in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy., Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital.
