Obituary

Keohane, Mary Therese (O’Sullivan) of Dedham, age 88 on June 5, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Cornelius J. Keohane. Born in Detroit MI, she was the oldest child of Jeremiah O’Sullivan (Cork, Ireland) and Margaret (Audley) O’Sullivan (Moycullen, Ireland) and cherished sister to Kathleen (John) Johnson, Patricia (Harl) Wright, Julie (Chet) Majocha, Maureen O’Sullivan and the late Jeremiah O’Sullivan and Margaret (Tom) McDonough. She was the sister-in-law of the late J. Frank Keohane and his wife Elizabeth of Westwood, MA.

Mary was the devoted mother of Neil and James of Dedham, Ma, Gerald and Daniel of Franklin, Ma, Maura Nannery of FL and Anne Guerini of Canton, Ma. She was mother-in-law to W. Mark Nannery, MD, Louis Guerini, Lisa Keohane, and Marcy Keohane. Mary cherished her grandchildren, Micaela, Erika, and Jacqueline Nannery; Timothy, Peter and Matthew Keohane; Julia, Owen, and Benjamin Guerini; Drew, Maia, and the late Jack Keohane. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Immaculata High School in Detroit, MI, Mary’s life focused on her family and her faith. Her deep Catholic faith was instilled in her from a young age by her immediate family as well as her family’s association with the Blessed Father Solanus Casey. Her faith was the guiding foundation of her strength, grace and kindness, which she passed on to her children and grandchildren.

Mary was employed for several years at a law firm in Detroit before moving to Boston. She re-entered the work force after raising her family, and was a manager at the Faxon Company in Westwood, MA.

As a resident of Dedham, Mary was a regular communicant of St Mary of the Assumption and taught CCD for many years. During her summers and in retirement, she was an active parishioner at Corpus Christi in East Sandwich, Ma and a contributing member of the women’s guild.

Mary was happiest surrounded by her family, loving the chaos of a large family, hosting and cooking for all holidays and birthdays. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting and reading. She attended all her children’s school, sporting and religious events as their biggest supporter. She particularly enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren as their grandmother, teacher, role model. She reveled in each grandchild’s successes and accomplishments.

For many years Mary and her husband Connie enjoyed the community of Traditions in Dedham and her family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff.

Visitation at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St. Dedham on Monday, June 9, from 8:30am-10am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary Church, Dedham at 10:30am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment on Tuesday, June 10, at 10:45am in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul of St. Mary’s, 420 High Street, Dedham, MA 02026.
