Michael R. Morin, 74, of Concord, NH died unexpectedly on June 2, 2025 while playing pickleball, a sport he loved and played regularly for many years. Mike was born in Derry, NH on July 19, 1950, son of the late Antoinette (Anne) Staples. Mike grew up in Derry where he met his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Susan J. (Cutter) Morin who predeceased Mike in 2020. Mike and Sue were long-time residents of Derry, Londonderry & Concord spending winters together in Cape Coral for more than 25 years.
More than anything, Mike enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by one daughter, Tracie Sponenberg and her husband Dave of Concord, one son, Jason Morin and his partner Janice Winnett of Atkinson, NH; five grandchildren: Jackson, Andrew, Brooke, Sarah and Abigail; one sister, Bella Kirrane of Auburn, MA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy Class of 1968 where he excelled at both Football and Baseball. After attending Plymouth State College and Coaching at Plymouth High School, Mike founded the Derry Demons in 1973 where he coached for more than 10 years, winning a National Championship in 1977.
Mike was a Senior Sales Executive with Geiger and spent his career dedicating himself, as he did with his family, to his clients. Mike had many clients who had become lifelong friends and knew they could always depend on him for anything.
In his spare time, Mike was an avid racquetball player and golfer for many years – until he discovered pickleball! Pickleball helped him immensely after Sue’s death.
Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Pinkerton Academy Athletics Fund designated to “The Mike & Sue Morin Fund” for the future development of Pickleball at Pinkerton Academy.
