Obituary

Daniel P. Belcher, a hard-working tradesman with a ready smile and quick wit, passed away on June 2 2025 after a brief illness, with family by his side. Born on January 23, 1960 to Edward and Patricia Delaney Belcher, Dan worked for many years as a glass glazer and later as a concrete worker, believing that good work spoke for itself. He loved quiet moments—fishing for bass, tinkering with projects, and sharing stories at parties—and greeted good luck and setbacks alike with an easy laugh.

Dan is survived by his children, Christina Cataldo of Avon and Daniel Belcher Jr. of Milton; five grandchildren—Cole, Noelle, and Sloane Belcher, and Ryan and Avery Cataldo—whose milestones he has followed with great pride. He also leaves his loving brother Edward Belcher; sisters Rosemary Sutterland, Dorrie Maree and Joanne Terry; and many nieces and nephews. He will be sorely missed by his longtime partner Ann Bodden. He was predeceased by his sisters Patricia Perry and Hazel Kelly.

A graveside celebration of Dan’s life will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 10am at Melrose Cemetery in Brockton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Father Bill’s & MainSpring House, 430 Belmont Street, Brockton, MA 02301 (helpfbms.org), supporting shelter and housing services in his life-long community.
