Martha L. (Lynn) Amo, of Lowell formerly of Burlington and South Yarmouth, May 31, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Raymond C. Amo and C. Gerard Kenny. Devoted mother of Thomas G. Kenny and his wife Jatulada "Nuk" of Ipswich, Kathleen L. Kenny of Lowell, and James P. Kenny of Billerica. Loving grandmother of Susan Parke and her husband Damon of North Andover, Thomas G. Kenny, Jr. and his wife Jill of Topsfield, Ariel Kenny and Alina Kenny, both of Ipswich. Loving gigi of Thomas J. Kenny, Zachary Kenny, Cadence Parke, and Natalie Parke. Cherished sister of Frances "Fran" Titone of Burlington, the late Joseph, Robert, and Walter Lynn.
Martha grew up in Chelsea, MA, where she graduated from St. Rose High School. One of her favorite activities when she was young was playing the violin, something at which she excelled. She was never one to seek the spotlight, but she did enjoy her on-stage violin solo performances.
Martha worked at AT&T in Boston after graduation, and that`s where she met her first husband, Jerry. They went on to marry and had three children. Martha was truly in her element as a wife, mother, and homemaker. Sadly, Jerry, passed away suddenly when he was 31 years old. Martha was devastated, but she immediately turned all her love and attention to her three young children and devoted herself to raising them.
She met her second husband, Ray, in 1979. They married a year later and eventually retired and moved to South Yarmouth, MA, where they enjoyed hosting family and friends often over the years. They also loved traveling, dining out, dancing, concerts, and Martha enjoyed her part-time job working in the Finance department at the Cape Cod Housing Assistance Corporation, where she often volunteered extra time for special fundraising events like "The Walk."
She was known, by all, for her kindness, her quiet strength, her generosity, and her gentle soul. She always put everyone else`s needs ahead of her own. She was happiest when surrounded by her family, and her face lit-up whenever she was with her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Martha loved the color green. As a child, she once told her mom she was so happy God made all the trees and grass green. She also loved Thanksgiving and all things Christmas! She hosted Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for family and friends for over forty years, eventually passing the Thanksgiving torch to her grandson, Tom "Tommy," and his wife Jill; and Christmas to her granddaughter, Susan, and her husband Damon.
We (her children) think a lovely way to honor mom would be for anyone, who is so inclined, to wear a bit of green, or a favorite Christmas pin to mom`s services. We know that will warm her heavenly heart.
