Obituary

Grace A. Levesque, aged 84, of Hanson, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on May 30th, after a short illness, leaving behind a legacy of joy, resilience, and love for life.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1940, she was the cherished daughter of the late Hanley O’Connor and Lillian (Stegman) O’Connor. Grace grew up in Boston and attended the city's school system, followed by many years working for ID Graphics Group and later Walgreens before retiring. A longtime resident of Quincy and Bridgewater, Grace found her "Happy Place" wherever there was sun, sand, and sea. She cherished her visits to Aruba (as recently as March), Cape Cod, and Florida. Grace loved both music and dance, and her passion for tap dancing brought her joy for many years. She also loved the theater including memorable visits to Broadway with her grandchildren, family, and friends. She was a devoted fan of her beloved New England Patriots and Boston Celtics. Her evenings always included watching Jeopardy, a ritual she never missed. Grace's family was central to her life.

She was predeceased by her son, James A. Levesque, and her daughter, Renee A. Levesque. She also joins her siblings Lillian “Muffin” (O’Connor) Fisher, Lawrence O’Connor, Hanley O’Connor Jr., Stephen O’Connor, Patricia “Patti” O’Connor, and Robert “Buddy” Eagles in eternal rest.

Grace leaves behind her son, Frank Levesque, and his wife Michaelynn of Hanson, MA; her daughter-in-law Gina Levesque of Raynham, MA; her seven cherished grandchildren Brian Levesque and his partner Jocelyn Muralles of Littleton, MA; Michael Levesque and his fiancé Trevor McConarty of Providence, RI; Daniel Levesque and his fiancé Cameron Upham of Quincy, MA; Patrick Levesque of Quincy, MA and his girlfriend Alannah Reilly; Ian Gourlay of Sanbornton, NH; Brandon Levesque of Somerville, MA; Matthew Levesque of Watertown, MA; Mable Kernan of Quincy, MA; and Aiden Kernan of Hanson, MA. Her extended family also includes many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Grace’s two beloved dogs, Sassy and Charlie, were her constant companions, joining the family legacy alongside the late Maisy.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Grace's incredible life and pay their respects on Thursday, June 5th, from 4 to 7 PM at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, located on Plymouth Street, Route 58 at the rotary, in Whitman, MA. A funeral Mass will follow the next day, Friday, June 6th, at 10:30 AM at Holy Ghost Parish in Whitman, all are welcome to gather at the funeral home 9:45 AM to process to the church. Grace will be laid to rest at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton, MA.
