Mrs. Suzanne L. (Custeau) Dalton, 70, of Haverhill, filled every room with warmth and laughter until her final moments on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, surrounded by the family she treasured. Born January 29, 1955, in Lawrence, Suzanne was the beloved daughter of Noel and Claire (Provencher) Custeau and remained a passionate pillar of our community her entire life.
At End Wave in Chelmsford, Suzanne's keen eye for detail and unfailing graciousness made her not just a buyer but a trusted friend to colleagues. But it was out on the emerald fairways of Crystal Springs—later renamed Crystal Lake in Haverhill—where her spirit truly soared. Teeing off beside her husband, George Dalton, she celebrated every birdie with an exuberant cheer, her eyes sparkling brighter than the midday sun.
Family was Suzanne's greatest gift—and its magic shone brightest when she embraced new roles with her whole heart. After her sister Linda Cahalane's passing, Suzanne instinctively stepped in as second mother to Jeremy Custeau and his wife Michelle, offering guidance, encouragement, and an ever-open ear. As "Mimi," to their children she reveled in every milestone and mischief of Mason, Max, and Alixe Custeau, Lilly and Conner LaDuke. Spending time, playing games and spinning bedtime stories that became treasured family memories.
Though Suzanne now reunites with her beloved George—along with sisters Linda Cahalane and Laura Shevlin, brother Phill Custeau, and nephews Sean Cahalane and Keith Custeau —her laughter and generosity live on in every life she touched. She leaves behind her devoted sister Delia Custeau of Haverhill; brothers Albert and Ray Custeau of Manchester, NH; brother-in-law, Ken Shevlin Sr. of Derry, NH, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and grandchildren who carry forward her radiant kindness and zest for life.
Please join us in celebrating Suzanne's vibrant spirit: visiting hours will be held Tuesday, May 27th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Edgar J. Racicot Inc. Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway Road, Dracut. We will honor her life in a service on Wednesday, May 28th, at 10:00 AM in the chapel, followed by a burial at Bellevue Cemetery.
May we all strive to live with Suzanne's generosity, her infectious joy, and her fierce love for family—let her memory be our guiding light. Share your favorite stories and condolences at www.racicotfuneralhome.com.
