Daniel J. Fortier, 67, died Saturday, May 10th in Rose Monahan Hospice Home surrounded by his family. He leaves his two brothers, John J. Fortier and his wife, Terri of Lewiston, ME, and Kenneth P. Fortier and his wife, Viktoria of Chaplin, CT; his cousin, James LaPlace and his wife, Kathleen of Maspeth, NY, Cathy Rogan and her husband, John of East Northport, NY; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his niece, Shannon Fortier.
He was born in Portland Maine and raised in Worcester. Daniel was a graduate of Worcester Vocational Technical School (Boys Trade) and began work as a machinist spending the bulk of his career, nearly 40 years, at Wyman Gordon in Worcester and Grafton.
Dan was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed travelling to the race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with friends Bruce Nanof and John Sweeney. Dan was an avid motorcyclist, having many throughout his life.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, is assisting the family with arrangements.
