Juanita Lucille Flores of Ventura, CA. walked on to the next place on May 4th at home, surrounded by her family. Juanita was born in Ventura on 12/18/1935 and was a direct descendant of original Land Grant owners as well as a direct descendant of one of the founding families of Los Angeles. She was a graduate of Ventura High School. She went on to join the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a past Vice President of the Elder's Council of the Coastal Band of The Chumash Nation.
She is survived by her children, Stephen Miller of Camarillo, Pete Miller of Amarillo, TX, Ed Miller of Ventura, and Regina Wastiqoliqol-Wilcox (Richard) of Ventura, brothers Phil Flores of Ventura, Ed Flores (Jakki) of Florida, Bill Flores of Ventura, Dan Flores (Carrie) of Washington and Richard Flores (Denise) of Colorado, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Carmelita Flores and her brother Stephen Flores.
