Paul N. Anderson, 96, of Derry, passed away Monday April 28, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family. Paul was born May 16, 1928, in Reading, MA, and was a son of the late Stephen and Hope (Kelsey) Anderson. He was raised and educated in Durham, ME, and settled his family in Essex, MA. The family moved to Windham, NH, in 1973, and later relocated to Derry.
Paul served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked most of his life as a machinist in industry, taught for 18 years at the Greater Lawrence Regional Vocational Technical High School as an Advanced Machine instructor, and established his own machine shop. He greatly enjoyed collecting and repairing vintage cars and antique clocks and working in his yard. Paul trained and drove Shire draft horses, which he loved immensely, and put his mechanical skills to good use repairing horse-drawn wagons.
Members of the family include three children and their spouses, Ray (Kathleen) Anderson, Craig (Lois Mirbach) and Jayne (Brian) Conrad. Five grandchildren, Kristen (Michael) Ascenzi, Glenn (Jenna) Anderson, Dane (Jessica) Anderson, Matthew Conrad, Jamie (Andrew Howe) Conrad, seven great grandchildren, Samuel Ascenzi, Sydney Anderson, Beau Anderson, Sonny Anderson, Martin Anderson, Lucille Anderson, and Riddick Howe. Paul was predeceased by his beloved wife of 67 years, Lucille M. (Craig) Anderson in March of 2020.
Calling hours will be held Friday, May 2nd from 6 to 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3rd at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry.
