Dateline: Mansfield, MA Joseph F. Taylor, age 67, of Attleboro, a former longtime resident of Mansfield, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, April 28, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen A. (Keohane) Taylor, to whom he was wed for thirty years at the time of her death on January 16, 2019. Born in Attleboro, MA on March 2, 1958, he was a loving son of the late Joseph E. and Gloria A. (Carnevali) Taylor. Joe grew up in Mansfield and was a 1976 graduate of Mansfield High School, where he was actively involved with the Mansfield Band. He furthered his education and love for music, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree from Berklee College in Boston. Mr. Taylor served as the Band Director and a Music Teacher at Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro, a career that spanned thirty years. He had previously worked for six years at the John Coffey Music Co. A communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Joe was so proud to have performed with the Boston Crusaders, playing trumpet in the Soul Revival Orchestra and his involvement with the Muchachos Drum & Bugle Corps in Manchester, New Hampshire. Joe’s love for music came second to his love and devotion for family, friends and former students. He was a devoted provider to his family, who loved him dearly and will always be remembered for his exceptional cooking skills. Joe recently had the distinction and honor of being inducted into the Bishop Feehan Hall of Fame. He is survived by his loving sons, Christopher D. Taylor and his wife Alyssa of Plymouth and Matt P. Taylor and his girlfriend Lauryn of Arlington. He was the dear brother of Gloria A. Taylor and her longtime significant other William Pascucci of Mansfield. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, May 4th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield. His Funeral will begin on Monday, May 5th at 10:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield. In lieu of flowers, Joseph’s family has requested that contributions in his memory be made to the Helen and Joseph Taylor Memorial Fund, care of Bishop Feehan High School, 70 Holcott Drive, Attleboro, MA 02703.
