Mrs. Mary Theresa (Hurley) Manfra, beloved wife of the late Jeremiah Manfra, died at the New England Medical Center in Boston on August 5, 2006, following a lengthy illness. She was 61 years old.
Born in Malden, Massachusetts, on September 4, 1944, she was the loving daughter of the late James and Mary (McMorrow) Hurley. Mrs. Manfra was a graduate of the Boston State Teachers College in Boston, class of 1966. She retired in 2004, after 30 years as an English teacher at the Malden Public School System. She was a long time communicant of St. Eulalia Church in Winchester. She will be sorely missed by her loving son and daughter-in-law; Michael J. Manfra and his wife Oana Malis of New Providence, New Jersey, close friend; Walter Reid of Medford, sister-in-law; Marguerite Hurley of Tewksbury, niece; Christine Hurley of Tewksbury, nephew; Kenneth J. Hurley of Norwood, great niece’s Catherine and Grace, great nephew; Aidan and dear friend Elena Malis of Romania. She was also the sister of the late James M. Hurley. Her funeral was from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, MEDFORD, Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at 9 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Eulalia Church, 50 Ridge Street, Winchester, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends attended. Visiting hours were Monday, August 7, 2006, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
