Donald L. Petit, 78, passed away at his home from Congestive Heart Failure. He was born in Salem, but lived most of his life in Danvers. Don was a member of the first graduating class of Bishop Fenwick High School and was the 145 pound Co-Captain of their State Champion Football Team. He received his Bachelors Degree in Sociology from St. Anselm College and joined the Army to fight in Vietnam. Following his tour of duty he returned home to earn his Master’s Degree in psychology from Salem State. He was the founder of Petit Painting Don was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed gardening, especially Dahlias, as well as fishing, tennis and cribbage. Don joins his brother Roger, mother Loretta and father Roger in heaven. He leaves his brother, Mark and wife Martha, niece Allison and husband Sage, grandnephew, Luke Prigozen, his nephews Joseph and Dylan Petit and niece, Janelle Paris. Relatives and friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Burial, at a later date, will be private.
