Anne M. (Poussard) Danjou, 82, of Salem passed awayat the Lafayette Rehabilitation Center in Marblehead on Thursday August 8, 2024 following a long illness. She was the devoted wife of Paul A. Danjou with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Arthur L. and Elizabeth M. (Bouchard) Poussard. Anne was a student of Ste. Chretienne Academy in Salem and in her early years worked at the family-owned Poussard’s Pharmacy in Salem. She and Paul married in 1962 and devoted their time to the raising of their young family. At the time of her retirement, Anne had worked for 38 years as a certified nurse’s aide for The Lafayette Rehabilitation Center in Marblehead. Anne’s life revolved around her children and grandchildren and her large extended family. She enjoyed knitting, crafts, puzzles and her aquarium, but most especially she enjoyed playing bingo. She was also an avid fan of Boston’s professional sports teams, particularly the Red Sox and Bruins. In addition to her devoted husband Paul, she is survived by three sons; Donald P. Danjou and wife Ann & their children Emily and Evan of Danvers, Robert R. Danjou and daughter Melissa, Raymond H. Danjou and wife Christine & their children Nicholas, Jonathan, and Megan all of Salem. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert Poussard and wife Phyllis of Salem, Henry Poussard and wife Jacqueline of Danvers, Richard Poussard and wife Cheryl of New Hampshire and Paul Poussard and wife Cathy of Saugus, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond, her brother Bertram and his wife Carol, and her brother Arthur and his wife Irene. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem at 10:00 AM, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 to be followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours, at the funeral home, will be on Tuesday, August 13th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial, at a later date, will be private.
