Matthew G. Burnett, 43, of Salem, passed away, Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington, following a short illness. He was the son of Norman S. Burnett, Sr. and the late Susan M. (Feeney)Hendry.
Born and raised in Salem, he was a graduate of Salem High Class of ’99. He enjoyed baseball and played for the Salem Little League and for Salem High School. He was an avid sports fan for all the Boston teams especially the Red Sox. Matt worked as a chef/manager for the Outback Steakhouse and over the years and for several other well known local restaurants.
He is survived by his father, Norman S. Burnett, Sr. of Salem, his step-father, John S. Hendry of Salem, his brother, Norman S. Burnett, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Beverly, his half-brother, David Burnett of Danvers and Michelle Cote of Salem as well as nephew Joshua and niece Taylor Burnett.
Relatives and friends are invited to an hour of Visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. {Route 114 / 1-A] Salem, followed by his funeral service at 2:00 PM.
