Silvana (D’Angelica) Calascibetta of Somerville passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on November 18, 2023. She was 95 years old. Silvana was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore Calascibetta. Born in Rome, Italy, she was the cherished daughter of the late Francesco and Maria (Fratepierto) D’Angelica.

Silvana came to America with her family at the age of 24, traveling by sea aboard the Independence. She was an active member of St. Catherine of Genoa Church in Somerville.

Silvana was the devoted mother of Josephine Legrand of Revere, Lacota of Somerville, Joseph Calascibetta and his wife Kelly of Billerica and the late Frank Calascibetta. She was the loving grandmother of 7, great-grandmother of 10 and the great-great-grandmother of 9. Silvana was the dear sister of Anna Maria D'Angelica of Italy and was predeceased by her four brothers. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours in the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St., Medford, on Monday, November 27, from 10AM-12PM, followed by a funeral service in the funeral home beginning at 12PM. Services will conclude with entombment in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.
