Louise E. Maxwell
Beloved wife, mother and grandmother


TEWKSBURY: Louise Elaine (O’Brien) Maxwell, age 72, a resident of Tewksbury for the past 7 years, formally of Somerville, passed away at Lowell General Hospital on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

She was the beloved wife of Charles S. Maxwell, Sr., with whom she celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on November 5th, 2022.

Born in Cambridge on February 10, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Francis O’Brien and the late Mary (Mountain) O’Brien.

Louise was raised in Somerville, attended local schools, and graduated from Somerville High School.

She was employed as a property manager by Joy Street Studios in Somerville, where she worked for 29 years before retiring.

Louise loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and her puppy “Brandi”. She also enjoyed camping, hiking, crossword puzzles, traveling throughout the U.S. with her husband and especially enjoyed the beauty of northern Maine and Yellowstone National Park. In addition, she was an avid fan of the television show “Jeopardy”.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Charles S. Maxwell, Jr. and his wife Nicole, of Tewksbury: two grandchildren, Olivia G. Maxwell and Charles S. “Chase” Maxwell, III. She was the sister of the late James K. O’Brien and his surviving wife Iona, of Somerville and the late Edward F. O’Brien, and aunt of Eric O’Brien and his wife Emily, Dallas O’Brien and his fiancée Jazmin Wallace, Louise Brogan, Patricia Adams, and Patrick O’Brien, and great aunt of Emric O’Brien.

Calling hours are Monday, April 17th, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Her funeral will begin Tuesday, April 18th, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury. Services will conclude with interment at Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East Street, Tewksbury, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org or to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org
