Emily G. Marquez of Ventura, California passed into eternal life on March 19, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Emily was born March 4, 1936, to lldefonso and Valvina Aviles. She attended Holy Cross elementary school, St. Catherine's High School and graduated from Ventura High School class of 1954.
Emily worked for Point Mugu Naval Base, Accounts Adjustment Bureau and Retired from Point Mugu Federal Credit Union as a collections officer. Emily was a devout Catholic, loved to travel, work in her yard, shopping sprees, and cooking for everyone. In fact, family get-togethers were her absolute favorite! Emily was a member of the VFW Auxiliary
and Secretary of the Ventura Elks Lodge.
Emily is survived by her children, daughters Robin Andrews and partner Tom Wachold of Ventura, Karen Taitano-Pramicio and husband Matt of Mililani Town, Hawaii, Sons Thomas Marquez Jr. of Camarillo, Bob Marquez and wife Donna of Ventura, Mark Marquez and wife Jennifer of Camarillo and Brother Gene Aviles of Ventura, as well as 9 Grandchildren, 13 Great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Emily is preceded in death by her father lldefonso Aviles, Mother Valvina Blasdell, stepfather Clyde Blasdell, husband Thomas Marquez Sr., and brothers. Al Aviles, Ralph Aviles, and Frank Aviles.
The Family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Ventura Post Acute, Dr. Desai, and the hospitalists that provide care at Ventura Post Acute. They would also like to thank Assisted Home Health Hospice Care.
Services will be held at the San Buenaventura Mission on Friday, April 14, 2023. A Rosary will be held at 10:45 A.M., followed by mass at 11:00 A.M.
