Karen M. Jones, age 69, of Mansfield, formerly of North Easton, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
Born in Boston, MA on March 11, 1954, she was a loving daughter of the late Frederick J, Sr. and Mildred M. (Rourke) Jones.
Karen grew up in Sharon and was a 1972 graduate of Sharon High School. She continued her studies, graduating from Framingham Union School of Nursing and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of West Florida.
Prior to retiring, Karen worked as a registered nurse at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and previously for many years at Brockton Hospital and also for Catholic Charities. The care her patients received was exceptional and Karen would often go the extra mile, using her personal time to spend with them as well.
A resident of Mansfield for the past seven years, she had previously resided in North Easton for twenty years. Family was the focal point of Karen’s life and she especially loved the wonderful memories created at Herring Cove Beach in Provincetown. Her other hobbies included gardening, antiquing and spending time on the computer.
She is survived by her devoted son Anthony F. DelGrosso of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of Frederick J. Jones and his wife Rhonda of Sharon, Chet A. Jones of Provincetown, Terri E. Jones of Kingston and the late Robin Jones Cushman. She was the cherished aunt of Joe Cushman of Halifax, Patrick Jones of Sharon and Kevin Jones of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her loving cousins.
A service in celebration of her life will be held on a later date and at a place to be announced. Burial will be private.
