Nancy D. (Verardi) Camfora, age 88, of Norton, formerly of Canton passed away peacefully, following a brief illness on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank R. Camfora, to whom she was wed for thirty-eight years at the time of his death on August 15, 1993.

Born in Staten Island, New York on December 23, 1934, she was a loving daughter of the late Samuel Verardi and Helen (Tricarico) Serio.

Nancy grew up in Staten Island where she attended Notre Dame Academy. A bright young girl, she accelerated as a student and graduated at the age of sixteen. Prior to retiring, she was the proud owner of the King’s Row Fireplace Shop at the Hanover Mall and was a former executive secretary for the Senior Vice President of United Food Brands, the parent company of Chiquita Banana at the Prudential Center in Boston.

A resident of Norton for the past twenty-three years, Nancy was a familiar face at the Friends of the Norton Senior Center where she served as president. She was also a member and former president of the Norton Red Hat Society where she was affectionately known as “Queen Mother”. Mrs. Camfora treasured the times spent amongst her loving family, traveled extensively and very-much enjoyed dining out.

She is survived by her devoted daughter Marie E. Broderick and her husband Paul of Norton. She was the cherished grandmother of John F. Broderick and his wife Kelly of Westlake, Ohio, Timothy P. Broderick and his wife Jessica of Wrentham and the great grandmother of seven great grandchildren. She was the dear sister of Donna Pawelski and her husband Steve of Red Bank, New Jersey and is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, March 15th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.

Her funeral will begin on Thursday, March 16th at 9:00 A.M. from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Power Street, Norton. Burial will follow at the Canton Corner Cemetery in Canton.
