Obituary

Adelina Oliveira (Pires) Brito 65-year-old passed away on February 8, 2023. She was surrounded by her family and love ones at the time of her death at St. Anne’s Hospital. She leaves behind her Husband Jose (Mario) Brito of 47 years. She was the daughter of the Late Joaquim De Cruz Pires and Valentina Brito-Oliveira Silva.

Adelina was born in Sao Vincent, Cape Verde Island, and raised in Almada Portugal until she came to Massachusetts in 1984 with her family and resided in Fall River MA. She leaves behind her sister Ana Maria Fortes, brother Joao Fortes and Jose Manuel Fortes from Holland. Sister Sonia Verismo and Brother Luis Duarte Pires from Portugal and brother Pedro-Duarte Pires from France, her three daughters: Fabia and her husband Nelson Borges, Ana Raquel (Kelly)Brito, Krissy L Brito and her companion Kevin Brito. Grandchildren Cameron A. Cabral and his companion JoesMary Soto-Torres, Charlotte (Charlie) Grinvalsky and her great grandson Cameron Julian (CJ) Cabral, all from Fall River MA. She leaves behind her uncle Joaquim (Jack) Silva of Westport, Antonia (Tanha) and her husband Caesar Teixeira of CT and Auxilla (Sissy) Silva of Dorchester MA. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Adelina worked as a machine operator at Quaker’s Fabric for 16 years before going to Stars Detox as a housekeeper until her retirement in 2014. Adelina enjoyed painting, knitting, gardening, and watching her favorite program “Desperate Housewives”.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Beacon Hospice Care 182 N Main St Fall River MA 02720 in memory of Adelina Brito.
