Eleanor L. (Nichols) Chase, age 73, of Morris Chapel, TN, formerly of Norton, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home on Thursday, February 23, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Leon D. Chase.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island on November 20, 1949, she was a loving daughter of the late Richard C., Sr. and Margaret (Livingston) Nichols.
Eleanor grew up in Seekonk and was a 1967 graduate of Seekonk High School. She continued her studies, attending Southeastern Massachusetts University in Dartmouth.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Chase had been employed as a State Filing Analyst for the Providence Washington Insurance Company, at their main office in Providence. She had made her home in Tennessee for the past twelve years and was a former longtime resident of Norton.
Eleanor was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Seekonk and while living in Tennessee kept up on church news and events through the church bulletins. She had a genuine love for family, nature, animals and was also a talented artist. Eleanor had a special place in her heart for the beautiful memories created while camping on Echo Lake in Gloucester, Rhode Island.
In addition to her husband, she was the dear sister of Dorothy E. Tameo and her husband Raymond of Attleboro, Muriel A. Valvano and her husband Frank of Rehoboth and the late Richard C. Nichols, Jr. and Kenneth E. Nichols. She is also survived by her loving and adored nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held in the Memorial Baptist Church, 340 Central Avenue (Route 152), Seekonk on Saturday, March 4th at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Rehoboth.
