Jeanne Cavanagh, age 95 passed away on January 20th surrounded by her loving family. She was recently a resident of Cornerstone of Canton Assisted living for the past 6 years. Originally from Newton, Ma, she was the youngest of 10 Children and met Ernest at a dance at the Canadian American Club after which they married and eventually settled in Canton where they raised 5 children. Jeanne enjoyed her family life in Canton where her family made wonderful, lifelong friends on Old Coach Rd with the Rooneys, the Connollys & the Lindsays. She was always keen to join in on any adventure with her neighborhood mom friends – Jackie, Joanne & Barbara.
She loved having her Sunday dinners surrounded by family either in Canton or up at Cobbetts Pond in NH during the summer and of course, her summertime visits and escapades with her Canadian family & friends in PEI.
She loved to read and could pick up any craft along the way including knitting afghans, braiding rugs, refinishing furniture, copper tooling, baking, preserving jams & mustard pickles, to name only a few.
Jeanne is survived by her five children, Lynne Weitz of Naples, FL, Jay and Barbara Cavanagh of Canton, Lois and Chris Gorman of Wrentham, Mark and Lynda Cavanagh of Clearwater, FL, Maureen and Tim of Naples, FL.
