. Peter S. Capernaros, age 91, formerly of Canton of Durham, NH passed away January 13th. Born and raised in Boston, he graduated from Boston English High School, Harvard University, and received Doctorate in Education from Boston University. Peter served 5 years in the United States Navy, stationed in London for 3 years and San Francisco for 2 years. After his discharge he remained in the active Navy Reserves for over 30 years. He was the Superintendent of the Canton Public Schools for many years before retiring.
Beloved husband of the late Freda (Tomaris). Father of Danae Capernaros of Mashpee. Brother of Philip Capernaros of Sharon and the late George Capernaros. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Private burial services will be held at Canton Corner Cemetery. | |||||
