CAULFIELD, Richard P. "Richie" Boston Police Officer, Army Veteran, Mission Hill Resident Passed away from complications of Alzheimer's Disease on January 5, 2023, at the age of 69. "Richie" was born on "All Souls Day," November 2, 1953, growing up in Boston's Mission Hill Neighborhood and attending Masses at "The Mission Church." Richie was a four-year Army veteran in the 1970s, and after his honorable discharge from Fort Hood in Texas, he followed up with over 35 years of service as a Patrolman for the Boston Police Department, known as "Officer Friendly," until retiring in 2016. He leaves behind his son, Sean; Sean's mother, Jane; brothers, Gerard and Peter and his wife Nancy; his sister, Virginia Yered; along with countless extended family, friends, and fellow colleagues who will remember him as a gregarious, kind man who dedicated his life to service.
