FALL RIVER… Steven J. Arruda, age 60, passed away at Charlton Memorial Hospital on Sunday, January 1, 2023.
Born in Fayetteville, NC, Steven was then son of Arthur J. Arruda and the late Theresa (Souza) Pereira. The family moved back to Massachusetts shortly after and he remained in Fall River for the rest of his life. Steven was the beloved companion of Laurie Cote.
Mr. Arruda served his country in the Army and worked as an auto body technician at Faggioli’s Auto Body for over 30 years. Steven was seen by many as a master of all trades. Despite being very skilled with his hands and his incredible intellectual abilities, Steven always remained very humble and would always sacrifice for loved ones.
Survivors include father, Arthur J. Arruda and wife Linda Arruda; son, Jared Arruda of Fall River, MA; daughters, Stephanie Valente of Fall River, MA and Ashley M. Arruda of Fall River, MA; sisters, Rhonda M. Arruda of Fall River, MA, Kimberly Shea of Swansea, MA, and Lisa Arruda of Newport, RI; brother, Jeffrey Arruda of Assonet, MA; 5 grandchildren; and several nephews.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held at 6 PM on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Southcoast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, MA 02723, with visitation to take place from 4 PM to 6 PM prior to the service.
