Kathleen M. Powers age 55 of Stoughton passed away November 10th at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton. Born and raised in Canton, Kathy attended Canton Public School graduating from CHS Class of 1985. While working as a manager at Cheapo Depot in Canton Kathy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bridgewater State College. She worked for many years as a substitute History Teacher in the Brockton and Canton Public Schools. Kathy worked in the Accounting Department of General Dynamics in Needham and FM Generator in Canton. For the last six years she worked for the Town of Stoughton Public Works Department. Kathy’s life revolved around daughter Nina, volunteering for many of her activities; she was the Girl Scout Leader, she worked the CHS Snack Shack at every Pop Warner Football game, and she taught CCD at St. John’s. Proud member of the “Crop Crew” a scrapbooking club in Stoughton. Devoted and loving mother of Nina Dupre of Stoughton. Longtime companion of Denis Dupre of Stoughton. Sister of John Powers and his wife Donna of Hawaii, Paul Powers and his wife Elizabeth of Norton, Michael Powers and his wife Jessica of Attleboro, Mary Mahon and her husband John of Harwich and the late Timothy Powers. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and life long friends. Visiting hours in the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton on Wednesday from 4-8. Relatives and friends are respectfully to attend a Funeral Service at the funeral home on Thursday morning at 11:00. Interment private.
