Florence M. (Betts) Rouleau, age 86 of Swansea, formerly of Taunton, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side on Thursday, November 3, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Charles E. Rouleau, Sr., to whom she was wed for nearly sixty-five years.

Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island on June 20, 1936, she was a loving daughter of the late Lucien and Mildred (Curran) Betts.

Florence grew up in South Attleboro and was a graduate of Attleboro High School. What started off as a summer home in Swansea became her permanent resident for the past twenty-eight years.

Prior to retiring, Mrs. Rouleau had worked as an LPN at the former Taunton State Hospital and the former Paul A. Dever State School. For many years she had also worked as a receptionist at Weight Watcher’s.

Florence was a member of the First Christian Congregational Church in Swansea. She loved spending time in the presence of her adoring family and received much pleasure taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted children: Charles E. Rouleau, Jr. and his wife Judith of Taunton, Laura L. Sherman and her husband Arnold of Taunton, Christopher E. Rouleau and his wife Khara of Taunton and Jonathan J. Rouleau and his wife Paula of Taunton. She was the dear sister of Mildred Wallace of South Attleboro, Hazel Mohr of Norton, Lucien Betts of South Attleboro, and the late Charles Betts, Dorothy Wilbur, Ruth Johnson and Patricia Beaucage. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Trisha Tokarz, Mallory Medeiros, Christopher and Corey Rouleau, Matthew and Emily Rouleau, great grandchildren Ethan, Avery and Brayden Tokarz, Jake and Leila Medeiros, as well as her loving nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday, November 9th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 10th at 10 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton.

In lieu of flowers, Florence’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the First Christian Congregational Church, 1113 GAR Highway, Swansea, MA 02777.
