Matthew J. Gillette, age 23, of Norton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving and adoring family on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Children’s Hospital in Boston.
Born in Columbus, Ohio on September 18, 1999, he was the much-loved son of Felicia S. (Diaz) Gillette of Norton and John J. Gillette, III of Coventry, RI.
Matthew spent his early childhood living in Ohio, Florida and Virginia. He had resided in Norton for the past thirteen years where he was educated in Norton Public Schools, as part of the BICO Program.
He loved being at home with his mother and especially enjoyed visits from his nurses. He received much joy listening to music and watching Law & Order on TV. Another favorite time for Matthew were when his niece and nephew acted as his “Pit Crew”. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him dearly. The memories he created will live on in his family’s hearts forever.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his devoted sister Amanda M. Walker and her husband Shawn of Pawtucket. He was the cherished grandson of Ingeborg Diaz of Tampa Florida and the treasured uncle of Hayley E. Walker and Jacob M. Walker, both of Pawtucket. He is also survived by his loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
A service in celebration of Matthew’s life will be held on a date and place to be announced.
