She was a 1949 graduate of Mansfield High School. She was secretary of her class and remained in close contact with her classmates throughout her life. Ellie enjoyed organizing the reunions and in later years, having yearly luncheons with them.

She was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, a member of the Catholic Woman’s Club, and a Eucharist Minister. She was a woman of deep faith and dedication to caring for those in need. Her passion was always helping those less fortunate and caring for the elderly. In 1979, she was trained as a volunteer at one of the first Hospices at Southwood Community Hospital. She helped countless families and patients find peace and comfort during their hardest days.
Ellie’s artistic talents were expressed in her beautiful gardens, growing herbs, flowers, and vegetables at their home in Mansfield. Ellie and Ray were owners of Ray’s Dry Cleaners in Wrentham from 1962 to 2000. The family she and Ray raised brought her the most joy.
She will be missed by her children, Kathleen Goddard of Las Vegas, Nevada, Elaine Goddard of Plymouth, Gail and Mike Achin of North Attleboro, Gary Goddard of Ft Lauderdale, Florida and Susan and Robert Jean of Mansfield.
