Anna P. (Maranto) Pipitone
10/2/2022

Anna P. (Maranto) Pipitone, 94 -- of Melvin Village, NH, formerly of Methuen and Concord, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 2nd. Beloved wife of 59 years to the late Joseph F. Pipitone. Devoted mother of Louis Pipitone and his wife Pat of Hooksett, NH, Joanne Cavallaro and her husband Joe of North Andover, and Elaine Ivester and her husband Kevin of Melvin Village, NH. Loving Nana of Erin Cullen and her husband John, Jenn Pipitone, Joe Cavallaro and his wife Katherine, and Matthew Cavallaro. Cherished Great-Nana of Wesley, Jonah, and Enzo.

Anna was a beautiful, strong, amazing mother. She was born in Boston and grew up in the West End moving to Somerville and then Concord MA where the family lived for over 30 years. She moved to Methuen with her late husband to downsize and live closer to the children. When in Concord, she joined the work force cooking in the schools’ cafeterias following her children in their school years and keeping a close eye. For a long time, she was a travel agent in Concord, and she loved that because she enjoyed traveling with her late husband. Anna was an active senior with the Methuen Sr. Center, visiting at least three times a week, line dancing, playing bingo, going to ice cream socials and shopping. Although she lost her sight in later years, she continued cooking and baking. She made beautiful Italian cookies, cheesecake, brownies and so much more. Christmas Eve was always at her place where she hosted her family. When her husband passed away in 2006, she felt she needed to do something to keep her busy, so at the age of 79, she decided to return to school and get her GED. She left school in 10th grade due to her eyesight. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and we couldn't have been luckier to have such a caring, loving and inspirational mother and Nana.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Anna’s family on Tuesday, October 11th from 8:30 to 11:30 AM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 64 Warner St., Medford at 12 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Anna’s name to the Perkins School For The Blind, 175 North Beacon St., Watertown, MA., 02472 or online at support.perkins.org.
