Phyllis M. (Paquin) (Levesque) Gagnon, 84, formerly of Salem and Danvers, passed away peacefully at Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 following a long illness. She was the loving wife of the late Rene R. Gagnon and was also the devoted wife of the late William A. “Piam” Levesque.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Francis H. and Bernadette (Morin) Paquin. Phyllis first married Bill “Piam” and devoted her early married years in the raising of their young family. She also worked in the cafeteria of St. Mary of the Annunciation School in Danvers. Widowed at a young age she met and eventually married Rene and the couple settled in Danvers. Phyllis was employed by Travelers Insurance Company where she worked in the claims department.
Phyllis loved her family and large extended family as well as her many friends. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and traveling. She spent her winters in Arizona and summers in Maine. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her three daughters; Denise M. Calcagno and husband Robert of Danvers, Anita L. Derouche and husband Timothy of Roxbury, ME, Celeste A. Abate and husband Peter of Lahaina, HI, her step-children Rene Gagnon and wife Patricia of Ipswich and Donna Clifford and husband Charles of Salem, her grandchildren; Kristen Noyes and partner Steve Cyr, Shawn Hiltonen and wife Kimberly, Michael Hiltonen, Philip Naworski and wife Lauren, Adrienne Naworski and Michael Abate. She also leaves six great-grandchildren; Abigail & Caroline Noyes, Parker & Landon Naworski, Taylor & Chase Hiltonen and Jonathan Abate, her step-grandchildren: Ryan Gagnon, Tara Lejuene and husband Eddy, Lauren Finerman and husband Danny, Eric Clifford and wife Kayla. She also leaves four step great-grandchildren; Kailey & Kelsey Lejuene and Lily and Delilah Clifford. Nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by her sister Denise L. Paquin.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Monday, September 26, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, the 27th at St. Richard of Chichester Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers, at 10:00 AM. A committal service will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem.
