Obituary

Cacciola, Josephine M. "Peenie" (Cammarata) of Dedham, age 87. After a courageous 10-year journey with Dementia Peenie passed on Thursday August 25, 2022.

Josephine was born to Anna and Vincenzo Cammarata on March 19, 1935.

She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Cacciola and is survived by her three children. Natalie and her husband Robert Culgin of Framingham, Vincent and his wife Kim Cacciola of Dedham, and Joseph and his wife Kelly Cacciola of Gilmanton, NH. Josephine also leaves behind her companion of 25 years, Albert Gibeau of Louden, NH.

Josephine loved her four grandchildren Joseph Culgin and his companion Alex, Danielle and her husband Jonathan Goodwin, Nicole Cacciola and her fiancé Stuart, and Taylor Cacciola and his companion Hekmet. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Muzzy, Max, and Alder, who all adored her, along with many nieces, nephews, and devoted friends.

Josephine was a long time New England Telephone employee. She resided in Boston, Dedham and retired to Gilmanton, NH.

Josephine was an avid skier and golfer. She loved to dance and was always the life of the party. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her.

The family would also like to express their undying gratitude to all her devoted caregivers as well as Old Colony Hospice.

Visitation will be Tuesday Aug. 30 from 8:30-10:15am at the George F Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, immediately followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30am in St. Mary’s Church, 420 High St., Dedham. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery, 500 Canterbury St., Boston.
