Jeannette M.(Lemay) Beaulieu

CHICOPEE – Jeannette M. (Lemay) Beaulieu, 86, a longtime resident of Felix and Sherbrooke Streets in the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, August 7, 2022. She passed into Eternal Life at Holyoke Medical Center with all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Danielson, Connecticut on July 16, 1936, the beloved daughter of the late Philodore and Antoinette (Lambert) Lemay. She moved at a young age to Chicopee where she graduated eighth grade from Saint Joan of Arc School, then entered the convent for eight years in Biddeford, Maine. She returned to Chicopee where she lived for the remainder of her life. She was employed for over 22 years in the Food Services Department for the Chicopee Public Schools where she primarily cooked at Lambert-Lavoie Elementary School and Chicopee Comprehensive High School, as well as cooking for the Senior Lunch Program. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, bowling, and cooking for her loving family. Jeannette was a competitive Shanghai Rummy player who was always ready for a spirited game of cards with her family. She also worked at the Election Polls for the City of Chicopee. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate, Leopold E. Beaulieu who was Called Home on August 3, 1979. They were married on June 3, 1967 at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and were blessed with only 12 years of happiness together. She leaves her six loving and devoted children whom she raised almost entirely by herself, Brian T. Beaulieu and his partner, Susan Fusco, of Bellport, NY, Gary J. Beaulieu and his wife, Tracey, of Westfield, Karen L. Beaulieu and her wife, Lisa St. Germain, of Newington, CT, Larry L. Beaulieu and his wife, Nicole, of Chicopee, Paula M. Lapite of Granby, and Donna J. Croteau and her husband, Scott, of Hampden; her 11 cherished grandchildren, Nathan Beaulieu and his wife, Amanda, and Brandon Beaulieu, Mark Beaulieu, Hannah, Abigail, Charlotte, and Lauren Beaulieu, Alexis and Jared Lapite, and Ava and Leah Croteau; her two dear sisters, Rita Bernier of Chicopee, and Lorraine Leclerc of Maysville, NC; her three dear brothers, Leonard Lemay and his partner, Jill, of Chandler, AZ, Leon Lemay and his wife, Renee, of Glastonbury, CT, and Emile Lemay, of Bradenton, FL; her three dear sisters-in-law, Delna LaBarre of New Hampshire, Aline Beaulieu of Belchertown, and Marie-Paul Beaulieu of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her dear sisters, Cecile Lemay, Annette Fontaine, and Beatrice Graham; and her dear brothers-in-law, Leon Bernier, Joseph Leclerc, and Peter Graham. Family and Friends are asked to meet directly at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
