Mary D’Attanasio (Carroccio) of Canton passed away August 2nd at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton. Born during the Woodrow Wilson presidency, Mary was 103 at the time of her passing. Born and raised in Hyde Park she graduated from Hyde Park High School Class of 1936. She married Albert in 1945 they moved to Canton and raised their family. Mary worked as a seamstress for Mass Hospital School. After her husband passed in 1970 she worked at the Canton High School in food service for many years before retiring. Mary was a member of the The Canton Catholic Women’s Club. She loved playing Bingo, and browsing Yard Sales. Mary will be remembered for great Italian cooking and her hospitality.
Beloved wife of the late Albert W. Loving mother of Albert and his wife Linda of Canton, Paul and his wife Maureen of Canton, Richard of Canton, David and his wife Bonnie of Bourne and James and his wife Monica of Foxboro. Sister of Benjamin, Nellie Josephine Carroccio and Theresa Penta. She is survived by her nine grandchildren; Lisa McCarthy, Beth Dunn, Sherrill Morrison, Paul D’Attanasio, Andrea Covitz, Dave, Michael and Albert D’Attanasio and Allison Santillo, her twelve great- grandchildren; Donovan, Leo, Wylie, Darla, Emerson, Katie, Lauren, Will, Sophia, Henry, Theo and Abel, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Oscar Romero Parish (formerly St. John the Evangelist) 700 Washington St. Canton on Friday morning at 11:00. Visiting prior from 9:00-10:30 at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton. Burial private.
