Antonio F. Moniz, 88, of Westport, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Somerset Ridge Center. He was the husband of the late Ruth (Hindle) Moniz.
Mr. Moniz was born in Fall River, son of the late John and Mary (Frias) Moniz and had resided in Westport for many years. A veteran of the Korean War, he served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He had owned R&M Manufacturing and had been employed by Globe Manufacturing, both of Fall River. Upon retirement he had worked at Spindle Rock Club, Westport. Mr. Moniz was a member of the American Legion in Westport, Fall River and Rehoboth and was past Commander of the Westport and Fall River posts. He enjoyed living on Prudence Island, boating and fishing.
Survivors include his 4 daughters: Debra J. Medeiros of Westport, Susan P. Moniz-DaPonte of Tiverton, Pamela J. McKenna of Swansea and Lisa A. Schreiner of Rehoboth; 6 grandchildren: Jillian, Jessica Ann, Jessica Marie, Joshua, Alison and Nathan; 5 great grandchildren: Mallory, Lilah, Clementine, Mariah and Madeline; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Manuel Moniz, John Moniz, Mary Jo Costa, Mary Dos Anjos Souza, Olivia Cavaco & Beatrice Hosburgh.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, August 5, 2022 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
Memorial visitation will be Friday, August 5, 2022 from 10-11 A.M., prior to the service.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
