Obituary

Kathryn R. (Trainor) Deschaine, age 66, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on July 12, 2022. She was born on April 30, 1956 in Whitinsville, MA, a daughter of the late Francis L. and Nancy (Affholder) Trainor. She was a graduate of Northbridge High School, Class of 1974. She then attended Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester, MA. Kathryn worked as a secretary for Springfield Christian School for 8 years, Pioneer Valley Christian (School) Academy for 8 years, and finally at Baystate Wing Medical Center in Palmer for many years.

If Kathy had it her way, she would have spent every day in church with her family beside her. She loved to be in the house of God, learning, praying, singing and fellowshipping with her church family. She attended Pioneer Valley Baptist Church, along with her husband Fran, for over 40 years. One would always know if Kathy was in the building because her contagious and boisterous laugh could be heard from anywhere. She was known for her incredibly passionate and kind heart. She was the best friend of many and a true woman of grace and wisdom. She was a mom to many over the years and this loss will impact a great many people. She never failed to point out a beautiful sunset and would commonly remark about how God was painting the sky for us again. She would frequently share a song that spoke to her to encourage others. Her life was full of joy and she spread it everywhere she went. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Francis P. Deschaine of Chicopee; 5 daughters, Pamela Kirkland of Wilbraham, Rachel Lagares and her husband Cristiano of Trinity, NC, Meghan Collazo and her husband Erik of Springfield, MA, Rebekah King and her husband Adam of Ellington, CT, and Jenna Marra and her husband David of East Longmeadow, MA; 2 brothers, Michael Trainor of Webster, MA and Patrick Trainor of Avondale, AZ; 1 sister, Margaret Hicks of Barneston, NE; 8 grandchildren with one on the way; 2 great grandchildren with one on the way along with many nieces, nephews, and close church family and friends who will miss her dearly. She is predeceased by her brother Sean Trainor.

We will miss you deeply, but we know it's not forever. Our lives have been forever changed because of you. Our loss here is your gain in Heaven. Forever in our hearts until we meet again. We love you.
