HIGGINS, Bruce W. Sr. of West Roxbury passed away on May 26th at the age of 84 years old.
Born in Stoneham, MA and raised in Everett, he graduated from Everett High School in 1955 and went on to receive his undergraduate degree from Boston University and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Northeastern University.
Mr. Higgins, who will be remembered as a loving family man and friend to all, worked for many years in the public relations field before accepting a position with the United States Department of Labor from where he eventually took his retirement.
He was a Reserve in the United States Army National Guard, a member of the Tau Epsilon Honorary Fraternity and a proud member of the Wyoming Lodge of Masons for over 50 years.
He was married to the love his life, the late Bernardine F. (Whelan) Higgins for 45 years.
He is survived by his daughter Heidi Petrilli and her husband Fred of Norton, MA, his son Bruce Higgins and his wife Lori of West Roxbury and his grandchildren Shawn and Jennifer Petrilli and Maddie and Ryan Higgins.
Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Friday, June 3rd at 10:30am. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa Church at 11:30am.
