Robert P. "Bob" Schneiders
ROBERT P. SCHNEIDERS “BOB”, ESQ. of Canton, MA passed away in his sleep on May 21, 2022. Bob was the devoted father of Robert, Jr. and his partner, Darius Varmahmoodi; and two daughters, Nicole and Meghan Schneiders, both of Westwood; loving son of Mary Jane and Paul Schneiders; caring brother to his three sisters, Betsy Kerrigan, Susan Schneiders- Rice and her husband Curtis Rice, and Jennifer Rizzo and her husband, Jason; dear friend of his former wife, Debra; and fun uncle to eleven nieces and nephews.
Bob was born in Canton on September 24, 1966. He attended Dean S. Luce School; St. John’s Elementary School; and Xaverian Brothers High School. He graduated from UMass Boston, and received a law degree from UMass Law School, and a Master’s Degree in Financial Planning from Bentley University.
Bob served as a proud police officer for seven years in Daytona Beach, FL and for twenty-one years as a Canton Police officer. He also maintained a general practice of law since 1996.
Bob had countless lifelong friends in Massachusetts and Daytona Beach. He was very outgoing and fun-loving and the life of any party. He had an infinite reservoir of jokes that he could apply to any situation to entertain his friends. Bob also had a private pilot’s license and a scuba diving license.
Bob was always very eager to assist his family, numerous friends, and even people he did not know. He volunteered for Team Rubicon, USA providing services during disasters such as earthquakes or floods. Bob also served as chairman of the Canton Board of Health.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington St., Canton, MA on Friday, May 27 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Oscar Romero Church (formerly St. John’s) in Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Team Rubicon, USA at www.teamrubiconusa.org
