Jacqueline F. O'Melia, a Woburn resident for most of her life passed away Monday, May 9, 2022, at the St. Mary's Group home in Burlington where she has been a resident for the last 4 years. She was 79. Born in Woburn, Jacqueline was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas J. and Alice (Popolowski) O'Melia.

"Jackie" as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was raised and educated here in Woburn. She was very a sociable person and loved to talk and interact with people. She worked for a number of years with the Woburn Cab Company and was able to get to know many people in Woburn. Over the years she enjoyed and looked forward to her Friday nights at Bickford’s with her friends where she loved to listen to music and have a goodtime. Jackie also participated in the Special Olympics for many years and was very proud of her many accomplishments and her collection of trophies. However, her greatest joy was her family, and she especially cherished holding and helping to care for her many nieces and nephews when they were infants. She cherished being with family and will be greatly missed.

Jackie is the cherished sister of Noreen Dunn and her husband Eugene of Woburn, John O'Melia and his wife Arlene of Wilmington, the late Tommy O'Melia, Robert O'Melia, Alice Chapman, and Donna Belcastro. She is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. The family would also give a special thanks for the extraordinary care given to Jacqueline at her St. Mary's Group Home in Burlington.

A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Friday, May 13th, at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
