Laura D. (Ekensteen) Herr, 97, of Acushnet, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Oscar C. Herr.
Laura was born in Providence, RI, daughter of the late Hugo A. and Vera (Chase) Ekensteen and had been a longtime resident of Acushnet. She had a love of life and a love of animals, especially dogs. She would have loved to have devoted her life to animals (but she got married and had her hands full raising 2 boys/her 2 sons.) She loved birds, though not an avid bird watcher. Laura was a Christian and like her father, loved the 23rd Psalm. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her 2 sons: Stephen Herr of Acushnet and Alan Herr and his fiancée Deborah Silverberg of Acushnet; 2 grandchildren: Laura and Ashley; and 2 nieces.
She was the sister of the late Ralph Ekensteen.
