Robert James "Bob" Bustin
4/26/2022

Canton, MA — Robert James “Bob” Bustin - December 21, 1951 to April 26, 2022. We celebrate the life of our remarkable husband, father, and "Papa", who passed away on April 26, 2022 in Canton, Massachusetts.

Bob had a distinguished life and career. An accomplished family and businessman, avid golfer, animated storyteller, voracious reader and crossword puzzler, and crafter (and well practiced connoisseur!) of cocktails. He was known for his quick wit, strong work ethic and unwavering character. He loved music and learning. His optimism was boundless. He loved wholly, lived fully and laughed relentlessly.

Born in Kingston, PA to the late John James Bustin and Rita Margaret (Klein) and raised in Forty Fort, PA, Bob graduated Kings College in Wilkes Barre, PA with a B.S. in Accounting. While at Kings, he was a proud member of the 1971 National Club Football Championship team. He later went on to earn his CPA and became a partner of Brennan & Bustin P.C., from which he retired after 30 years.

Bob was happiest when surrounded by family. Particularly his six grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as “Papa". He cherished tradition - new and old - and focused on the simple joys in life when raising his family with Sharry, his devoted wife of 46 years. Cape Cod was Bob’s special place. He loved the sand and water scapes, the rail trail, the ocean air and its rhythm…and the food! Bob loved a good meal and had a hall of fame sweet tooth.

Bob is survived by his beloved family: his wife Sharry A. (Trojanowski), daughter Bonny A. Whitcher and her husband Jonathan of Hingham, son John E. Bustin and his wife Sarah of Osterville, and daughter Mary Rita Mason and her husband Adrian of Hingham. Proud Papa of Jacquelyn, Will and Charlie Whitcher, Emma and Jack Bustin, and Charlotte Mason. Loving brother of Mary Rita Pugliese of Sparta, NJ, Jack Bustin of Williamsport, PA, Charles “Bud” Bustin of Larksville, PA, and Kathy Taroli of Dallas, PA. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
