Finley Earle Beaton, 86

Finley Earle Beaton, age 86, of South Chatham, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022 at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy J. (DeLutis) Beaton, to whom he was wed on October 26, 1963.

Born in Attleboro, MA on September 23, 1935, he was a loving son of the late Hugh A. and Dorothy M. (Valequette) Beaton.

Earle grew up in Mansfield and was a 1953 graduate of Monsignor Coyle High School in Taunton. He proudly served his country for three years in the United States Army, NASA, as a Russian linguist. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Specialist Second Class and later attended Pomona College in California.

Prior to retiring, Mr. Beaton was the founder and owner of Insulated Piping Systems, a company he successfully operated for thirty years. He had made his home in South Chatham for the past fourteen years and was a former lifelong resident of Mansfield, a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield and a thirty-two year volunteer for the Pan-Mass Challenge.

Earle’s adoring family were truly the essence of his life. An avid outdoorsman, he was very attuned with nature and had the ability and skills to fix just about anything, which he always welcomed as a challenge.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted daughters: Meredith Beaton Starr and her husband William of Wellesley, Elizabeth Beaton Mausert of Saratoga Springs, New York and Kathleen Beaton of Venice, California. He was the cherished grandfather of Nathan, Hannah, Claire, Sophia and Oliver. He was the dear brother of Flo Anne Johnson of Thousand Oaks, California, Bruce Beaton and his wife Lisa of Redding, CT, and the late Gerald Beaton, Hugh Beaton and Kathleen Beaton Ockert. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Friday, April 22nd at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106), Mansfield. Burial with military honors will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.

Visiting hours are omitted and in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Family Support Center, 2095 Main Street, Brewster, MA 02631 or the Pan-Mass Challenge, 77 Fourth Avenue, Needham, MA 02494.
