New Bedford – Carlos E. Brilhante, age 55, of New Bedford, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of Maria C. (Melo) Brilhante, they would have celebrated 37 years of marriage.
Carlos was born Fajã de Cima, Sao Miguel, Azores Portugal to Ernesto Brilhante and Maria Merces (Vicente) Brilhante. He had worked at Eastern Fisheries as Plant Manager and most recently as Tractor Trailer Driver. Carlos Loved going camping with his family, especially to New Hampshire, he enjoyed taking nature walks, hunting and riding his Harley with his wife.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maria C. Brilhante; children, Asher Brilhante, Chelsea Brilhante, Raquel Brilhante, Melissa Brilhante; granddaughter, Gabriela Brilhante; grandson, Colton Pacheco, his parents, Ernesto and Maria Merces Brilhante and a brother, Paul J. Brilhante.
Carlos’s visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 18th, from 5-8 P.M.at Perry Funeral Home. His funeral will take place on Wednesday January, 19th beginning at Perry Funeral Home at 9 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St Mary’s Church in Fairhaven at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery.
