Gail E. Chalifour

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Gail Chalifour, 68, of Marblehead who passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021 She was a bright spark in this world with a big smile and easy laugh and will be deeply missed by all.
Gail was born in Salem, daughter of the late Oscar and Dolores (Gallant) Chalifour, She grew up spending summers barefoot and tanned on the shore of Bessom’s Beach in Marblehead. She ended up taking over the family home in Marblehead where she and the family continued to make endless memories. Anyone who knew Gail knows that family was always her first priority. She was known for dropping everything to help any family member in need, including driving through blizzards and flying across the country. Gail also maintained family traditions so that they were not lost through the generations; everyone down to her grand-nieces are especially fond of the ice-box cookies she learned to make from her mother Dolores!
Gail fondly remembered her time spent as a math teacher, but truly excelled as a systems trainer for Wang, PeopleSoft, and Oracle where she also was able to experience her love of adventure. Through her positions of long-term travel, she experienced locations all over North America, from the east to west coast and Trinidad, Gail was always happy to share those experiences with her family.

Gail is predeceased by her parents Oscar and Dolores. She is survived by siblings Glenn and wife Terry, Daniel and wife Cindy, Cyndi and husband Jim; nieces and nephews including goddaughter Corrine, Tom, godson Evan, Becky, Michael and godson Brian; grand nieces and nephews Channing, Quinlyn, Ben, and Nolan.

A celebration of life will be planned for the spring or early summer. To send a message of support to her family, please visit In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a memorial contribution to Rosie’s Place Home, 889 Harrison Ave., Boston, MA 02118 or
