Charlene “Char” M. Shannon 72, passed away on December 2, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 12, 1949 in Springfield, a daughter of the late William and Rena (Patenaude) Shannon. Char worked as a Patient Revenue Specialist for Trinity Health of New England Medical Group for many years before she retired. Char is survived by her beloved husband James Randolph of Chicopee, son Joseph Cebula of West Springfield, daughter Julie Nawracaj and fiancé Tim Austin of Springfield, brother David Shannon and partner Janine Rider of Chicopee, and sister Barbara Patton and husband Pat of Chicopee. She leaves her beloved grandchildren, Brandon Nawracaj and wife Lindsey, Aaliyah Nawracaj and Timmy Austin. She also leaves her niece Nicole, nephews Ryan and Anthony, life long friend the late Ted Cebula, along with many friends. Char was a wonderful Mom, fabulous cook, the hostess with the mostest, with an amazing smile. She was a beautiful person inside and out and was one of God’s greatest Angels. Calling hours will be held on Thurs., Dec. 9, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Fri., Dec. 10, 2021 in Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut St, Springfield. Burial will be held at a later date.
