DAVENPORT, Katherine M. “Kay” (Brady) of Naples Florida formerly of Roslindale and West Roxbury passed away peacefully on November 24, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Davenport (BFD). Devoted mother of the late Michael and his surviving wife Darla Davenport of Fairfield, CA, Maura Davenport of Naples, FL, and Katherine (K.C.) and her husband Kevin Grogan of Quincy and the late Brady J. Davenport. Cherished grandmother of Matthew, Karley, Devin, Erin, Lauren and Ted. Devoted great-grandmother "GG" of Grace, Claire, Maeve and Declan. Kay was born in Roslindale and was a proud graduate of Roslindale High School class of 1944. She married in 1950 and made her loving home in Roslindale until the premature death of her husband Joe, when she moved to West Roxbury to live next to family. She ultimately moved to warmer and sunnier Naples, Florida combining households with her dear brother John” Jack” Brady and cousins Peter and Anna Brady who predeceased her. Everyone who knew Kay knew she loved to dance and anytime there was music playing she was sure to ask anyone in her path for a dance. Playing cards and working on crossword puzzles were constant pastimes when not checking in on her family members. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visit with Kay’s family in the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street, WEST ROXBURY on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Name Church at 11:30 a.m. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
