FALL RIVER… James A. and Helen (Griffin) Lucas of Swansea passed away at St. Anne’s Hospital, James on, Sunday, October 17, 2021, and Helen on, Thursday, November 18, 2021,
James was born in Somerville, the son of James A. and Eleanor F. (Pierce) Lucas and had lived in Swansea 1978. Helen was born in Fall River, a daughter of John and Ethel (Lewis) Rebello and had lived in Swansea most of her life.
James was a carpenter who retired in 2014 and Helen worked at the Susse Chalet in Seekonk for 23 years.
James served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
They are survived by their children: John R. Liebl of Warren, Heidi M. Liebl of Swansea and Julie A. Lucas of Boston; grandchildren: Tara, Eric, Ryder and Kayla; great grandchildren: Owen, Brayden and Natalia. James also leaves his brother: Jon A. Lucas. Helen also leaves her brothers: Edward McVey, John Griffin, Joseph Rebello and Robert Rebello; and her sisters: Dorothy McVey, Barbara Silvia and Linda Lynn. They both share several nieces and nephews. They were the parents of the late Eric F. Leibl and Jamie A. Baldwin and siblings of the late Thomas Griffin, Beverly Vickery, Harry McVey, Robert Lewis.
